Margarita Lyuncheva

She was born in Veliko Tarnovo but grew up in Smolyan. She graduated with a Master's Degree in Archeology at the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. St. Cyril and Methodius". From 2009 to 2013 she was a doctoral candidate in the Prehistory Section of the National Archaeological Institute and Museum - BAS. Since 2017 she has been curator at the Archeology department of the Regional Museum of History “Stoyu Shishkov” - Smolyan.
She has been active in archeological excavations since 2003, and her professional interests are in the field of Late Prehistory. She has participated in surveys in numerous archeological sites across the country.
Since 2006 she has been part of the team exploring the prehistoric salt-production and urban center Provadia-Solnitsata and for the last few years she led the excavations of the Neolithic-Chalcolithic salt production complex.
