Student Week

The archaeological team of Provadia–Solnitsata is once again organizing Student Week, which will take place from October 1 to 6, 2025. During this period, we will welcome organized school groups to the archaeological site. We invite all students – young and older – together with their teachers, to visit us, see the excavations at Solnitsata, pass through the gate of the oldest fortress in Europe, and learn about the history of this important site for European heritage.

The visits include a guided tour of the archaeological complex, accompanied by an engaging talk, as well as two poster exhibitions: “Seeds from the Past” and “Colors in Prehistory – How Natural Pigments Were Extracted and Used.” Everyone will also have the chance to grind grain on an ancient stone mill or prepare paint just as the people of the prehistoric settlement once did.
